Happy Holidays from our Home to yours…

Wow!! 2008 is almost gone, what happened?

For us the year started off with a new addition to our home… we rescued (well that’s what they call it) a little doggy and Joshua named him Sargent.

February - Mary’s request to change her work schedule back to part-time was approved allowing her to spend more time with Joshua after school.

March - Joshua’s class had an overnight field trip at Point Bonita, and Don’s Aunt & Uncle stopped by for a visit at Easter.

Our around the house stuff this year included Don and Joshua making a TV stand, working with the neighbor to replace our shared fence, and replacing an uncomfortable sofa with a really big and comfy one.

April – While at a River Cats Baseball game Joshua was interviewed by the local TV news.

May – We picked out a more fuel efficient car for Don to commute to work in (we’re calling it Joshua’s car), and Joshua lost his grill (braces).

July – The men spent a few days in the mountains fishing and hiking.

August – Had a get together for Joshua’s birthday that included family from Bakersfield, Imperial Valley, and the locals. We took an extended weekend trip up to Northern California to see the Redwoods along the coast. Joshua started the 6th grade, and played his first season of soccer with a really great bunch of boys, coaches, and families that made for a lot of fun.

October – Mary’s family gathered to celebrate Grandpa Perez’s 90th birthday. We all chipped in and rented two houses in Bodega Bay surrounded by a golf course and views of the ocean. Grandpa enjoyed seeing everyone especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The weather allowed for a beautiful day of golf, taking in the local county fair, and time on the beach.

November – Thanksgiving found us in Bakersfield with Mary’s sister and family.

We will be ending out 2008 with Christmas here at home.

We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
