Merry Christmas!

Here is what we have been up to this past year.

January - Don and Mary took a relaxing day trip to Napa and enjoyed wine tasting and shopping.

March - We did a road trip through Southern California and got to meet the newest member to the family, enjoyed brunch with more family, and a stop to pay our respects to Grandma and Grandpa Davis.

April - A trip to Daffodil Hill only to find that it was closed to the public at the last minute. We along with around a hundred other disappointed visitors did get to see a beautiful peacock that strutted up to the gate to check us all out.

May and June - Our 27-year-old water heater started showing signs of leaking, so it was time for a new one. We attended a few concerts throughout Sacramento seeing a band from the 80's, a couple tribute bands, and some local talent at the 'concerts in the park'. At one event, Don was entered in a 'beard contest' along with a friend in the 'Dad beard' category. How did he not win?

July – Spent the fourth with family, and the evening watching the neighborhood fireworks show.

August – Summer vacation this year had us exploring Boise Idaho as a possible place to retire to, and Bannack Montana a now ghost town State Park containing some family history. Picked out a couple famous Hermiston watermelons that were just deeeelicious. The month finished out with Josh returning to school as he enters the home stretch in achieving his degree in Communications from Sac State (CSUS).

Throughout the year - The family attended a couple Kings vs Blazers games, Mary continues to explore more recipes making up delicious dishes that we all enjoy eating, Don ran his car in a couple autocrosses, and Josh continues to work as a Student Assistant at the State of California Department of Justice's IT helpdesk where he now has gained some seniority.

December – Our beloved Sargent passed away on the first of December. It has been a rough time for all of us. Sargent was a great dog that seemed to make this family whole. He was 14 years old and had a wonderful life. We have been reflecting on the good times that we had with him, like in March when he seemed full of energy while visiting his cousins, and in August when he was running around the fields in Montana. Sargent is greatly missed.

It was a good year overall with its highs and lows - but such is life. Here's to wishing that everyone's 2020 is Merry and bright.
