Merry Christmas! Oh Boy 2021 was one crazy year. January – Things started off with a bang when Josh officially got a promotion to a full-time position at his job. He also finished College graduating with a degree in Communications. I gotta say we are pretty proud of him, and I know I am not the only one that feels that way. Don got a promotion at his office too. February – Mary and Don celebrated another wonderful year with one another. On a sadder note, Sadie was proving to be a little too much for us so we worked with the dog adoption folks to find her a home that we believe will be a better fit for her. She was a good girl, and she will always hold a special place in our hearts. Not to fear, Josh and Don worked in secret to secure a new little puppy. We also upgraded our fireplace with a nice mantel. March – Josh was sent his degree from California State University Sacramento. We also got one of our fences replaced. Mary got her first Covid vaccine. April – We got to bring home our new puppy that Josh tracked down for a wonderful Easter gift. Mary named him Bandit because when we got him his fur around his eyes was much lighter in color looking like a mask that a bandit would wear. To me it looked more like Sly Cooper but to each there own I suppose. Josh and Don also got their first Covid vaccines while Mary got her second Covid vaccine May – Josh and the whole family participated in what California State University Sacramento called the Carmencement since they were not going through with the normal commencements due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So for our safety and the safety of others we did a sort of drive through graduation for Josh. Josh and Don got their second Covid vaccines. Don also decided to start working on fixing up the backyard, Josh helped. June – Don and his buddy Neil went to Sonoma to watch a NASCAR race. Mary’s brother Noel decided to relocate to New Mexico in a nice new house. Mary and Don got their first dose of the Shingles vaccine. July – The whole family was able to hang out and tell America Happy Birthday! Don and Josh went about tackling replacing the ceiling fans around the house. To close out the month our good family friend Dan Clark passed on. He was one of a kind. They don’t make them like him anymore. The world needs more people like Dan. Rest in Peace Dan you will be missed. August – Josh turned 24! dang they grow up fast don’t they? That makes me feel old. Mary’s brother Noel moved to New Mexico. September – Don and Josh tackled more of the work in the backyard. They worked on taking down the shed and breaking up the concrete around the shed and down the side of the house. October – We got together with some of our neighbors to celebrate Halloween. It was cute to see all the trick or treaters in their little costumes. Josh and Don finally wrapped up taking down the shed and busting up the concrete in the backyard. Don went to Aftershock and had a great time. Josh and Don went to go see a comedian named Jo Koy at the Golden One Center. They had a great time at the show. We decided to go ahead and throw Josh a party for graduating college. November –Don turned 55. For this momentous occasion Josh decided to surprise Don and take him on a trip to Vegas for his birthday to see his favorite NFL team the now Las Vegas Raiders play. It was the first time Josh had been to an NFL game and the first time that Don had seen the Raiders play live. They took a tour of the stadium and had an awesome time. They stayed at the Park MGM formerly the Monte Carlo. It is very close to the Mandalay Bay hotel. For the trip everyone decided to get their Covid booster shot. After they got back from Vegas we had a small Thanksgiving get together with Mary’s sister Linda and brother-in-law Larry. After Thanksgiving we went to go see a comedian named Gabriel Iglesias aka “Fluffy” at the Golden One Center. He was hilarious and we had a great time. December – Don and Mary got their second Shingles shot (we got a lot of shots this year, dang). Don and Mary along with a couple friends attended a Charlie Brown Christmas concert at a local church. It was a very nice concert. In Closing we hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season. Cheers to y’all and let’s hope for a less crazy 2022. - The Davis Family |
