Merry Christmas!

2022 – Oh My Gosh!

The big news for us this year is that we moved from our home of 22 years across town to a little bigger house that is a bit newer. We had been thinking about and exploring the idea of a new home (or new to us) for a while and at the beginning of the year we got serious. The housing market was still a bit crazy, so with the guidance from our realtors, being able to bid non contingent, we found a place and our bid won out over the others.

April & May – We packed, got rid of stuff, moved stuff, got some new stuff, then we tidied up the old place to sell. Our realty team 'staged' the old place and got it to really shine. We turned the keys over to the new owners at the end of May.

Over the summer months we unpacked and settled into our new house. We had a little money set aside for home improvements as we like to do, so we used those funds to do some things around the new place to start making it ours. Things like; changing out some lighting, installing overhead storage in the garage, adding a water softener, patio cover and outdoor furniture, kitchen appliances, closet organizer… what will we do next year?

August – Josh turned 25… Wow! He's like a quarter century old. We did get away from the house a couple times for some day trips to Apple Hill and Auburn.

October – This seemed to be a rather busy month for us. Airshow… now that we live much closer to Mather Airbase, we not only got to see a little bit of the Air Show from our backyard, but we attended this years show in person too. Not too far down the road from us in Folsom they have what's called 2nd Saturday with live music, it was a fun way to spend the evening listening to a great band. Took our dear friend (and minister who married us) out to dinner and enjoyed the evening visiting and catching up. Bandit had a planned 'play date' with our neighbors Shih Tzu and they seemed to have a fun time. Went to the Sacramento Kings opening night against the Portland Trailblazers and ended out the month handing out candy to all the trick or treaters.

November – Don and Josh started going to the driving range just down the way to hit some golf balls and practice putting… maybe this will turn into an activity for them to do this next year. We celebrated our dear friends 50th wedding anniversary, Wow!, such an awesome couple. Once again, we had a delicious Thanksgiving turkey cooked to perfection along with Mary's delicious cornbread stuffing.

December – As this year winds down, we look forward to a nice quiet Christmas in our new home and look forward to a Happy New Year.
